Michael J. New, is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Harvard-MIT Data Center. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Dartmouth College and recieved both a Masters Degree in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University. Dr. New has conducted extensive research on the impact of state level pro-life legislation. His study, "Analyzing the Effects of State Legislation on the Incidence of Abortion During the 1990s" was released by the Heritage
Foundation in January, 2004. Dr. New's other research interests include campaign finance reform, state fiscal limits, and direct democracy. His articles have appeared in such publications as The Philadelphia Inquirer, Investor's Business Daily, The Weekly Standard, National Right to Life News, and National Review Online.
